Danimer Scientific, the U.S. producer of PHA- and PLA-based bioplastics—which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last March—will become part of Teknor Apex, a group specializing in engineered polymers and masterbatches, as an independent subsidiary.
Financial details of the operation were not disclosed, but according to filings at the Delaware bankruptcy court dated April 25, Teknor Apex reportedly made a $19 million bid to acquire Danimer and agreed to assume certain liabilities.
