Finproject, the Italian compounding and injection-molding company majority-owned by Versalis, has reshuffled its top ranks, promoting longtime executive Maurizio Vecchiola to executive chairman and appointing supply-chain specialist Francesco de Francesco (pictured) as chief executive officer (CEO).
Earlier this year the firm also tapped Stefano Fabris as general manager, completing a new leadership lineup (read).
Francesco De Francesco holds a degree in management engineering and a master’s in general management from SDA Bocconi. He spent much of his career within the ENI group before joining Versalis in 2024, initially heading the chemicals division, and he sits on the board of the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA).
From its headquarters in Morrovalle, Macerata province, in central Italy, Finproject runs two businesses: cross-linkable and thermoplastic compounds (peroxide XL-PO and PVC); and injection molding of polyolefin-based expanded materials sold under the XL EXTRALIGHT brand for footwear, motorcycles, furniture and safety applications.
