Despite a period that remains far from favourable for the European plastics recycling value chain, the tenth edition of Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRS Europe), the exhibition and conference held earlier this month in Amsterdam and the leading European event for the sector, closed with figures approaching those of a trade fair.

According to figures provided by the organisers, 11,500 industry professionals attended the event — slightly fewer than last year — while the number of exhibitors exceeded 500, in line with 2025.

Seventy speakers took part in the conference programme, including Jessika Roswall, European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, who delivered the opening keynote. International dignitaries attending the event included Shri Siddhesh Kadam, Chairman of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, who has also spoken at PRS India in Mumbai, and H.E. L. Amrih Jinangkung, Ambassador of Indonesia to the Netherlands.

“The tenth anniversary edition of PRS Europe felt like a real turning point for the industry after what has been a difficult year for the sector since our last show,” said Matt Barber, Global Events Director at Crain Communications, which organises the event together with Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE). “We received great feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike. There is no better place to discover what is possible today and in the future with the latest plastics recycling technology and solutions.”

Plastics Recycling Show Europe will return to RAI Amsterdam next year, from 29 to 30 June 2027. Similar events are scheduled in Dubai, Shanghai and Mumbai, with additional locations expected to be announced later this year.
