As it prepares to complete a new compounding plant in Poland (read article) and also plans to establish a presence in Morocco, Chinese group Kingfa is looking at Italy, Huaxiang Li, also known as Steven Li (pictured), general manager of Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Europe, the group’s European subsidiary, told us at Plast 2026.
Late last year you announced plans to build a plant in Szprotawa, Poland, with capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year of polypropylene, polyamide, PBT, polycarbonate and ABS compounds. Where do things stand?
The new Polish plant is almost ready. The main building will be completed in September and the equipment will be installed in the autumn. By the end of the year, we will complete plant testing, with a view to starting production in the first quarter of 2027, initially with 75,000 tonnes per year. Capacity will then be increased gradually, in several stages, until it reaches the planned 300,000 t/y.
