interpack moves to June and trims format

The Düsseldorf packaging trade fair will return in 2029 with a six-day format running from Sunday to Friday.

July 1, 2026 12:41

Interpack 2026Interpack, the German triennial event dedicated to the packaging industry, will be held in early summer 2029, from Sunday 10 to Friday 15 June, rather than in its traditional May slot.
The event will also be shortened by one day, and the weekend will no longer fall in the middle of the schedule.

The decision follows discussions with exhibiting companies and was reviewed with the interpack Advisory Board and industry associations, according to the organisers. It responds to an increasingly common preference for a more compact event schedule, focused on high-quality contacts and a more targeted use of time at the trade fair.

“interpack is the most important platform in its sector,” says Thomas Dohse, Director of the event. “We listen carefully to what exhibitors and visitors need and are creating a format that will support their success at the trade fair even more effectively. This is the first visible sign of that. Further innovations will follow.”
