NexPoint peopleNexPoint Materials, or simply NexPoint, is the name of the new company created following the sale of Sabic’s Engineering Thermoplastics (ETP) business to German investment holding company Mutares.

Announced at the beginning of the year (read article), the transaction was valued at €450 million.

Specialised in the formulation of engineering thermoplastics, NexPoint employs around 2,800 people across eight plants in the Americas and Europe: Mt. Vernon, Ottawa, Bay St. Louis and Burkville in North America; Tampico in Mexico; Campinas in Brazil; Cartagena in Spain; and Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands.

The new company’s portfolio includes Lexan-branded polycarbonate (PC) resins and compounds, Valox polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), Cycolac acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and Cycoloy PC/ABS blends.
Production capacity stands at around 1,085,000 tonnes per year of resins and 780,000 tonnes per year of compounds.

“NexPoint will continue to deliver trusted products, technical expertise and responsive support, with no disruption to ongoing operations, while increasing business agility and streamlining decision making,” the company said in a statement.
