Toppan secures 80% stake in Italy’s Irplast

The Japanese group expands its footprint in BOPP film production through a deal with Cheyne Strategic Value Credit, strengthening its position in sustainable packaging.

irplast headquarters Toppan has signed a binding agreement to acquire 80% of Irplast, the Italian manufacturer of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, through its Indian subsidiary, Toppan Speciality Films (TSF).
The stake is currently held by the U.K.-based investment fund Cheyne Strategic Value Credit (SVC).
