Cuaz takes over at EuPC

The former Clariant public affairs executive takes the helm of the European plastics converters association and Polymer Comply Europe.

September 1, 2026 10:33

Erich Cuaz eupcEuropean Plastics Converters (EuPC), the association representing European plastics converters, has appointed Erich Cuaz (pictured) as its new Director General.

This marks the fourth change at the helm of the association in less than four years, following the departure of Alexandre Dangis in early 2023 and the subsequent tenures of Bernard Merkx, Paolo Bochicchio and Federica Gallicchio. Dangis had led the association for more than thirty years.

Cuaz will also take over the leadership of Polymer Comply Europe (PCE), an organisation providing services in regulatory compliance, association management, projects and studies.

Over the course of his career, the new Director General has gained experience in public affairs, communications and sustainability, both within industry associations and in corporate environments, with a particular focus on European policy and regulation.
Before joining EuPC, he spent 11 years at Clariant in roles related to external relations and public affairs.

In his new role, he will lead the Brussels office and work with President Jean-Marc Galvez, the Board, members and the federation’s national organisations.

EuPC has identified the competitiveness of the European plastics converting industry, innovation, investment and the transition towards circular models among its priorities.

“I feel honoured to take on the role of Director General of EuPC at a pivotal time for both the plastics converting sector and the European Union,” Cuaz commented. “I look forward to working closely with our members, the EU institutions and our partners to advance EuPC’s mission of providing a strong and united voice for plastics converters in Europe.”
