EU clears Amcor-Berry merger

The final regulatory hurdle has been cleared for the union of the two plastics packaging giants.

April 28, 2025 16:14

berry amcor mergeThe merger between packaging heavyweights Amcor and Berry Global, announced late last year, has now received unconditional approval from EU antitrust authorities, following the green light from U.S. regulators in March.
This marks the last regulatory requirement needed to finalize the deal, which is expected to close April 30, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of certain other closing conditions.

The merger will create a global powerhouse in consumer goods packaging, with operations spanning flexible films, rigid containers, closures and a significant portfolio of healthcare packaging solutions.

The new group will operate 400 production facilities across 140 countries, generating approximately $24 billion in revenue and an adjusted EBITDA of $4.3 billion.
