perga facilityU.S.-based Inteplast Group has entered the European market by acquiring German film producer Perga from Bavaria’s Serafin Group. Perga specializes in polyethylene-based technical and packaging films, marketed under the brands Pergafilm, Allfolin and Pergaloop.

Headquartered in Walldürn with 200 employees, Perga will be integrated into Inteplast Engineered Films (IEF), becoming its sixth manufacturing facility — and the first located outside the United States.

“We see so many synergies with Perga on board,” said Inteplast Group President John Young. “This being our first major investment in Europe, we could not have selected a better partner.” “Culturally, Perga is so close to our manufacturing values, namely its continuous pursuit of excellence and devotion to its customers,” he added.

Established in 1991, Inteplast Group is one of North America’s leading integrated plastics and paper manufacturer , serving a wide range of markets including healthcare, foodservice, packaging, construction, retail, industrial hygiene and graphics.
