The European Commission has imposed anti-dumping measures on imports of epoxy resins originating from three Asian countries: China, Taiwan and Thailand.
This decision follows an inquiry that found serious harm to European producers caused by dumping practices from these three nations, while proceedings against South Korea were dropped for lack of evidence.
The duties set by Brussels range from 17.3% to 33% on Chinese epoxy resin imports, from 10.8% to 11% on those from Taiwan and a flat 29.9% on Thai shipments.
Epoxy resins are used to improve adhesion, resistance to corrosion and insulation. As such, they are widely used in construction, transportation and in the production of adhesives, paint and coating. They also have important uses in wind blade construction.
