China concerned about PET 'involution'

Overcapacity in polyester for plastics and fibers at the center of a meeting convened tomorrow by the Chinese Ministry of Industry with major domestic producers.

china pet pelletsThe international news agency Reuters today published a report (read HERE) about a meeting scheduled by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) with several major national petrochemical groups regarding overcapacity in polyester used to produce bottles (PET) and textile fibers, as well as its precursor, purified terephthalic acid (PTA).
