The Italian holding company Industrie Rinaldi, active in the production and recycling of EPS (expanded polystyrene) for packaging and thermal insulation in construction, has acquired full ownership of Poliespanso, a Mantua-based Italian company best known for its Plastbau system, an insulated structural formwork made of EPS.

By bringing together Isolkappa, Bioisotherm, and now Poliespanso, Industrie Rinaldi aims to create a national hub for EPS construction systems, with two production sites in Battipaglia (Southern Italy) and Mantua (Northern Italy), and three distinct commercial networks covering the entire Italian market.

According to the company’s statement, Poliespanso, while maintaining its independent identity and operational structure, will immediately benefit from being part of a larger, more solid and better-structured Italian industrial group, capable of supporting new investments and joint development projects.

“This is not just an industrial acquisition but a strategic decision aligned with our long-term vision,” said Giuseppe Rinaldi (pictured), CEO of Industrie Rinaldi’s construction division and president of AIPE, the Italian EPS industry association. “Poliespanso is an outstanding Italian company, with strong technical expertise and a solid entrepreneurial history that aligns with our core values: innovation, sustainability, and focus on human capital.”

Industrie Rinaldi, a family-run company, has been operating for over forty years in the transformation of EPS for construction and packaging applications. It manages 10 sites across Italy, including 5 manufacturing plants and 3 EPS recycling facilities in Campania, all officially authorized and recognized as PEPS – Corepla Platforms for EPS packaging recycling.
Overall, the group employs more than 200 people in Italy.
