Indorama exits Czech rPET venture

UCY Polymer transferred to minority partner amid loss of German DRS feedstock, uneconomic upgrades, and persistent quality issues.

PET bale for recyclingIndorama Ventures has sold its 85% stake in Czech company UCY Polymer to minority partner Maximilian Josef Söllner, through his affiliate UCY Global Invest. The share transfer was carried out with no consideration.

The joint venture was established in 2022, when the Thai group acquired a majority stake in UCY with the aim of expanding recycling capacity using bottles collected through the German deposit return scheme.
