The European Commission has imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resins from Taiwan and the Republic of Korea.
The tariffs range from 5.2% to 7.5% for resins originating in the Republic of Korea and from 10.9% to 21.7% for those from Taiwan.
The decision, which confirms the provisional duties introduced last August, follows an in-depth investigation that found ABS had been sold at dumped prices, causing injury to EU producers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.
In an EU ABS market estimated at €1.4bn, imports from Korea and Taiwan held a 31% market share between October 2023 and September 2024. Over the same period, the EU industry’s share declined to 63%, from 72% in 2020.
