Indorama Ventures has notified Thailand’s stock exchange that it has permanently shut down a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) production plant at one of the three TPT Petrochemicals sites located in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, Rayong province, Thailand.

The decision follows a strategic review of the site “in the context of structural industry shifts and the group’s long-term portfolio and capital allocation priorities”. The shutdown – which will not affect operations at the other sites or supply continuity – “forms part of the disciplined portfolio optimisation plan, focused on strengthening earnings quality, cash resilience and long-term competitiveness,” the company said in a statement.
