Bioplastics prices rise as well

TotalEnergies Corbion has announced price increases for its Luminy PLA grades, which are based on polylactic acid.

April 22, 2026 08:10

totalenergies corbion PLATotalEnergies Corbion said the decision to raise prices for Luminy PLA, its polylactic acid-based biopolymer, was driven by the impact of the Middle East crisis on transport and energy costs.

The increases, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, took effect on 21 April.

The producer said it is working with customers to identify the most sustainable path forward based on their specific business needs.
It added that it remains committed to supporting customers during periods of global volatility while ensuring consistent supplies of high-quality PLA.
