MaTec, the trade fair event that brought together Plast for plastics and rubber, Xylexpo for woodworking technologies and the Composites Future conference-exhibition at the Fiera Milano exhibition centre in Rho, Italy, from 9 to 12 June, attracted just under 45,000 visitors - 44,907 to be precise. One quarter of attendees, or more than 11,000, came from abroad.
This was a solid result, considering that the previous edition, held in 2023 as a stand-alone Plast event, recorded 38,000 visitors, one quarter of them from abroad, against a less complex macroeconomic backdrop than today.
For Xylexpo, the biennial exhibition for woodworking and furniture industry technologies, and Composites Future, organisers estimated attendance at 10,000 visitors over the four days of the event.
At the close of the exhibition, Plast director Mario Maggiani commented: “We cannot hide the fact that we feared much heavier repercussions from the global geopolitical situation on our exhibitions as well, which instead reflected the ‘desire for the future’ of the more than 1,200 exhibiting companies present and the tens of thousands of visitors who came to the fair.”
