Thomas Reutter and Julia S. Schlenz (pictured) have been appointed Vice Presidents of the Plastics Europe Steering Board, joining Lauren Kjeldsen of Evonik.

Reutter is Senior Vice President Polyolefins Business at Borealis, now part of Borouge International, the group formed this year through the integration of Borealis, Borouge and Nova Chemicals. Before the new group was established, he held the same position at Borealis, which he joined in 2021 following a long career at Dow.

Julia S. Schlenz is President of Dow Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI), a position she took up in December 2024 after leading the group’s operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with responsibility also for Italy.

Plastics Europe is the pan-European association representing plastics manufacturers. It has around 100 member companies, accounting for more than 90% of polymer production in Europe. The Steering Board comprises the President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer and representatives of member companies, elected for a three-year term with the possibility of a one-term extension.

The association has been led since January 1, 2026, by Rob Ingram, CEO of Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe, who succeeded Benny Mermans.
