New executive role at COIM

Gabriele Malcangio appointed as general manager of the Italian group active in polyesters, polyols, polyurethanes and specialty resins.

Gabriele Malcangio General Manager C.O.I.M.,Gabriele Malcangio (pictured) has been appointed general manager of C.O.I.M., the Italian manufacturer specializing in polyester-based specialties, polyols, polyurethanes and specialty resins.

Malcangio brings with him 25 years of international experience, most of which was gained in the chemical industry. He began his career at Oxido, an Italian company operating in the field of organic peroxides for the rubber and plastics sectors, where he held key roles in human resources, health and safety, and plant operations.

He later joined Arkema, progressing from sales manager to business manager and ultimately to commercial director, overseeing growth across Spain, Portugal, Africa and Latin America. Over the past seven years, he has been based in Dubai, where he helped strengthen Arkema’s presence in the Middle East, gaining deep expertise in leading multicultural teams and shaping international expansion strategies.

Founded in 1962, COIM now operates 19 companies worldwide, with nine production sites and R&D centers, employing more than 1,350 people. The group has been present in the United States since 2005, with two plants located in Paulsboro and West Deptford, New Jersey.
COIM’s operations are structured into three product lines: polyesters and polyols; polyurethane systems (including coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers); and specialty resins.
