Gabriel-Chemie Group has successfully completed and inaugurated a major expansion at its Hungarian site in Nyíregyháza, marking a strategic step forward in production capacity and sustainable development. With an overall investment of approximately €6.5 million, the Austrian masterbatch specialist reinforces its long-term commitment to the site, where it has operated through a local subsidiary since 2003.

The project significantly increased infrastructure across all operational areas. Office space grew from 244 m² to 720 m², warehouse capacity tripled from 300 m² to 1,000 m², and production floor area more than doubled, expanding from 540 m² to 1,190 m².
Additionally, a new 120 m² dedicated maintenance section was established for the first time.

The expansion also enables a substantial rise in manufacturing output. The number of production lines is being scaled from 10 to 19, supporting a future annual output of up to 2,500 tonnes of masterbatches.

Beyond physical growth, the company has also invested in environmental performance and energy efficiency. Upgrades include a new cooling water system, a dust extraction system with fresh air circulation, the installation of an air-source heat pump, and comprehensive air conditioning in office areas.
A photovoltaic system with an expected output of around 250 kWp is currently under installation. Once operational, it will cover a significant share of the site’s energy needs and make Nyíregyháza the third Gabriel-Chemie location equipped with solar power infrastructure.
