The French group Arkema is evaluating the sale to the Indian group Praana of certain assets in additives for PVC and engineering plastics, including impact modifiers and processing aids, used in the manufacture of profiles, pipes and packaging.

The project concerns, in particular, methyl methacrylate butadiene styrene (MBS) copolymers and acrylic copolymers (AIMPA) in Europe and Asia, part of the Coating Solutions segment, which in 2024 generated around €44 million in sales.

The proposed divestment is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2026 and is subject to preliminary consultation with trade unions in the Netherlands.

Also included within the divestment perimeter is the Vlissingen production facility in the Netherlands (pictured), which employs 50 people. Arkema will instead retain ownership of the Mobile plant in the United States, as well as its American AIMPA activities.

The Indian group Praana operates in specialty chemicals and composite materials through the companies Sterling Specialty Chemicals, Galata Chemicals, Artek Surfin Chemicals and 3B Fibreglass.
