Nicola Tei (pictured) will lead Arkema’s operations in Italy in the coming years, succeeding Giulio Cocco, who is stepping down after 14 years to retire.

Born in Livorno, Tei joins from Inovy (Ineos), where he was responsible for the Rosignano Marittimo site.
He previously held a number of senior roles within Arkema. After an initial experience in the peroxides business, he worked at several sites of the French group, eventually becoming plant director at Spinetta Marengo, in the province of Alessandria, Italy. He later held senior management positions in France and the United States before being appointed to head the Italian subsidiary of the French multinational, originally spun off from Total.

The French chemical group operates in Italy through Arkema Srl, which oversees four production sites in Gissi, Boretto, Spinetta Marengo and Anagni. The Italian subsidiary also controls three companies: Agiplast Italia, with a plant in the province of Cremona active in plastics recycling; Ideal Work, in the province of Treviso, specialising in decorative surface solutions for architectural and design applications; and Arkema Adesivi, with plants in Parona and Mozzate—previously part of Dow—operating in the high-performance lamination adhesives segment for flexible packaging.

In FY2024, the French group reported revenues of around €9.5bn and employed 21,150 people across 55 countries.
