Established last autumn following a reorganization of the Barnes industrial group, Barnes Molding Solutions, a company specializing in injection molding tooling and molds, has been renamed Spectrix.
Led by Marcello Vendemiati (pictured), Spectrix operates through well-known brands such as Synventive Molding Solution, Thermoplay and its subsidiary HPE, Männer, Priamus, Foboha and Gammaflux.
The company recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Pune, India, and another production site is expected to open soon near Detroit, in the United States.
The name Spectrix combines “spectrum” and “plastics” and is accompanied by the tagline “Enduring Advantage, Engineered”, highlighting the company’s aim of delivering sustainable value to customers across the entire value chain through advanced engineering.
Announced at Chinaplas, the rebranding reflects the integration of key technologies within a single organization: design, materials science, hot runner technology, molds, sensors and controls for injection molding.

The group is expanding its North Carolina site to support growth in liquid colours and additives for thermoplastics and polyurethanes.
