EU clears Forvia Interiors sale

The Commission has approved Apollo’s acquisition of the automotive interiors business under the simplified procedure.

July 10, 2026 10:49

forvia door panelThe European Commission has approved the acquisition of sole control of Forvia’s Automotive Interiors business by investment funds managed by private equity firm Apollo.
The transaction was announced last April.

The acquisition covers Faurecia Interiors Holding SAS in France, Faurecia Automotive Interior System (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in China and Faurecia Interior Systems USA Holdings, LLC in the United States, collectively referred to as the Forvia Automotive Interiors Business.

Brussels concluded that the transaction would not raise competition concerns because of the companies’ limited market positions following the acquisition. The case was reviewed under the simplified merger procedure.

The Commission’s approval is one of the steps required to complete the transaction, which the parties expect to close in the second half of 2026.

Forvia Interiors is one of the world’s leading suppliers of automotive interior components, including instrument panels, door panels and centre consoles. It operates 59 production sites and eight research and development centres across 19 countries, employs around 31,000 people and generated revenue of approximately €4.8 billion in 2025.
