New European head for Toray composites

Jan Nowacki has been appointed to lead Toray Advanced Composites’ European operations, succeeding David Bernard.

Toray Advanced Composites  Jan Nowacki  Managing Director for EuropeToray Advanced Composites has appointed Jan Nowacki (pictured) as its new Managing Director for Europe. He succeeds David Bernard, who is retiring after a 40-year career in the advanced composite materials industry.

Nowacki has more than two decades of experience in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. Over the course of his career, he has managed complex manufacturing operations and global supply chains, with a focus on operational excellence, business growth and innovation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern and a PhD in composite materials from the Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe in the same German city.

Nowacki’s appointment follows that of Guillaume Coustaud as Commercial Director for Europe.

A subsidiary of Japan’s Toray Group, Toray Advanced Composites manufactures thermoplastic and thermoset composite materials for aerospace, space, automotive, industrial, communications and consumer applications. The company operates production facilities in North America, Asia and Europe, including sites in Nijverdal, the Netherlands, and Nottingham, the United Kingdom.
