Italy-based Serioplast, a leading manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging, has announced plans to build a new production facility in Shenandoah County, Virginia. This will be the company’s third North American plant, following those in St. Louis and Red Springs, North Carolina.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently shared the news, along with key details about the project. The new factory will cover 13,000 square meters and create 45 jobs, representing an investment of more than $25 million. To support the initiative, Virginia has allocated $180,000 from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Shenandoah County.

“Our vision for the future is clear: to drive growth and innovation while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability,” said Paolo Bergamini, CEO of Serioplast. “With our growth in North America, Serioplast is ready to write a new chapter of success. We believe Virginia, with its robust economy, highly skilled workforce, and favorable business environment, is the ideal location for our expansion and long-term success.”

Founded in 1974 in Seriate, Bergamo, Northern Italy, Serioplast operates globally with 33 plants in 16 countries, employing more than 2,000 people. The company produces rigid plastic packaging for major brands in the food, home and personal care, and pharmaceutical industries. Serioplast also designs and manufactures its own molds and production equipment.
