LyondellBasell and Sipchem partner in cracking project

Feasibility study underway for a polyolefin and derivatives production complex in Saudi Arabia.

Lyondellbasell LaPorte plantLyondellBasell and Sipchem are exploring the construction of a new steam cracker in Saudi Arabia and, as part of the feasibility study, have been awarded a feedstock allocation from the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia—a crucial step in defining the technical, financial and commercial configuration of the project.

If approved, the new cracker will be developed through a joint venture, 60% owned by Sipchem and 40% by LyondellBasell.
