Italian producer of plastic caps for the beverage industry Wisecap has acquired a shareholding in Egyptian company CSI Egypt, set up 10 years ago by CSS (Cap Sustainable Solutions) to manufacture plastic closures for carbonated drinks.

As a result of the joint venture, the company has been renamed Integrated Cap Solutions Egypt (ICS Egypt).

“By becoming part of the Wisecap Group, ICS Egypt will gain access to a broader product range, state-of-the-art technologies and the extensive commercial know-how we have built over more than four decades,” comments Alessandro Delfanti, chairman and CEO of the Italian group. “This will allow ICS Egypt to serve existing customers more effectively and expand into new product segments such as closures for water and still beverages.”

Wisecap already operates across Europe with five plants managed by Italian companies CDS and Viroplastic Beverage, Czech subsidiary Viroplastic CZ, Spain’s Manufacturas Inplast, and Poland’s Viki Plast. The portfolio includes tethered and non-tethered caps with a strong focus on sustainability.

Wisecap’s partner in ICS Egypt, CSS, is a family-owned Spanish industrial group with deep roots in Europe’s packaging sector, particularly in plastic closures for the beverage industry. It runs two production sites in Spain and Hungary in addition to the Egyptian facility near Cairo covered by the agreement, giving the group a total capacity of more than 20 billion closures a year.
