Exolon Group, the European producer of solid and multiwall sheets, intends to acquire the AkyVer polycarbonate sheet business from France-based Corplex. The transaction, handled by the group’s Italian subsidiary, is expected to close by mid-August.

Under the agreement, Exolon will take over the assets, trademark rights, sales operations and intellectual property — including product and patent rights — while manufacturing will be folded into Exolon’s facility at Nera Montoro in the province of Terni in central Italy.
The range covers polycarbonate multiwall sheets (AkyVer Sun Type), panel products (AkyVer Panels) and sheet systems (AkyVer Connect/Prime).

“This strategic acquisition enhances and complements the existing product range of Exolon Group, particularly in the construction sector,” the Belgian group said, noting that the move will further consolidate its position as a “medium-sized, agile company distinguished by a strong customer focus and high operational flexibility.”

For Corplex, the sale is in line with its strategic decision to focus on its core business: the extrusion of polypropylene sheets and their conversion into tailored applications that meet the evolving needs of its customers across logistics, industrial packaging and reusable transport solutions.

Part of the Serafin Group, Exolon extrudes polycarbonate and polyester sheets at its two plants in Tielt, Belgium, and Nera Montoro, Italy. Its products are marketed worldwide under the Exolon, Axpet, Vivak and Inspria brands — and soon, AkyVer as well.
