A new voice for plastics debuts at K2025

Plastic is Fantastic Association, initiated by Alpla, aims to spread facts over prejudice, with a clear mission: “no excuses, just relevance. No opinions, just facts".

Dominic Fiel Plastic is Fantastic AssociationA new advocacy initiative, the Plastic is Fantastic Association, will debut this year at K2025 in Düsseldorf.

The initiative comes from Austrian plastic packaging producer Alpla, which intends to launch the “first global movement dedicated to reshaping how the world sees plastic,” with a clear message for consumers: “facts, not prejudice.”

Under the leadership of Dominic Fiel (pictured), the Plastic is Fantastic Association positions itself as a voice and network for the global plastics industry.
Its goal is to challenge clichés, debunk false myths, and highlight what plastics can achieve and the positive impact they can have worldwide. Its slogan is straightforward: “no excuses, just relevance. No opinions, just facts".

At K2025, the new association will welcome supporters and industry experts to its stand while also launching a communication campaign designed to highlight the positive aspects of plastics—too often overshadowed by an overly emotional debate. “Plastic is safe, lightweight, hygienic, recyclable, and often the most sustainable option,” the promoters of the initiative state. “The knowledge exists: it simply needs to reach public awareness”.
