An Italian-Swiss alliance is taking shape in the plastic closures sector, as Corvaglia and Wisecap team up to expand their offering to the European beverage market.
The partnership combines Wisecap’s industrial scale and product portfolio with Corvaglia’s expertise in design and injection molding technology, aiming to deliver a broader range of closure solutions to customers across the continent.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wisecap will integrate the manufacturing operations of Corvaglia Closures Eschlikon into its European production network, which currently spans Italy, the Czech Republic, Spain, Poland and Egypt. In return, Corvaglia will acquire a minority share in Wisecap and provide the Italian company with its injection molding know-how and closure design capabilities.

According to a joint statement, the partnership will enable Wisecap to speed up innovation cycles, strengthen technical support and enhance its supply flexibility throughout Europe.

Founded in 1991 and based in Eschlikon, Switzerland, Corvaglia is a global supplier of closures for beverage packaging, serving numerous major brands worldwide. It is estimated that 20% of all PET bottles for soft drinks globally use Corvaglia closures. The group manufactures caps in Switzerland, Mexico and the U.S., employing more than 300 people, half of whom are based outside Switzerland.

Wisecap, meanwhile, operates five facilities in Europe through its subsidiaries CDS and Viroplastic Beverage (Italy), Viroplastic CZ (Czech Republic), Manufacturas Inplast (Spain) and Viki Plast (Poland). The company’s portfolio includes both tethered and non-tethered caps, with a strong focus on sustainability. In April 2025, it also acquired a stake in CSI Egypt. Wisecap produces more than 15 billion closures per year on 80 production lines, with a workforce of 300 employees.
