domo spain blanes siteDomo Polymer Solutions Spain has filed for a “concurso de acreedores” under Spanish law, adding Spain to the list of countries where the Domo Chemicals group has entered insolvency proceedings.

Following similar moves by its German and French subsidiaries, the Spanish unit of the group has sought court protection. The filing covers the production facility in Blanes, in the province of Girona, as well as the group’s IT operations in Barcelona, which together employ around 100 people.

The Blanes plant, which produces HMD, salts and PA66, has temporarily suspended operations. The IT unit, however, continues to provide services to the Belgian group’s other companies. Employees remain covered by the protections provided under Spanish insolvency law during the transitional period.

The insolvency procedure is intended to allow the Spanish company to assess options to ensure operational continuity, under court supervision and with a court-appointed administrator, Josep Pujolràs, a partner at law firm Roca Junyent.
