CEDO acquires Italian recycler Polimero

Based in Rovigo and previously part of the Repeats group, the company produces 9,000 tonnes/year of recycled polyethylene.

April 1, 2026 10:53

Polimero rovigo plantCEDO, the UK group active in post-consumer flexible packaging plastics recycling and in the production of refuse sacks and liners, has acquired Polimero, an Italian company specialising in the recycling of polyolefin-based waste and headquartered in Rovigo, in northeastern Italy. Since 2022, the Veneto-based company had been part of the Dutch group Repeats, which recently entered insolvency proceedings (read article).

By recovering low-density polyethylene (LDPE) waste from post-consumer collection streams as well as industrial and commercial activities, Polimero produces around 9,000 tonnes/year of granules for new applications.

The acquisition strengthens CEDO’s position as a vertically integrated circularity platform for flexible plastic films, the UK company said. The deal expands its operational footprint into southern Europe, enhances access to recycled material streams, and supports greater flexibility in supplying high-quality recyclates.

Including Polimero, CEDO now has eight recycling plants, six in Europe and two in Vietnam. Two years ago, the UK group acquired Lithuania’s Plasta Group, which is active in polyethylene recycling and the production of plastic films and bags.
