Xaloy, the US manufacturer of wear- and corrosion-resistant screws and barrels, has acquired Maxi Melt, a Northern Italy-based company specialising in the supply of barrels, screws, tips and other plasticising components used in both injection moulding and extrusion.
The company will continue to operate under its existing brand, maintaining its team, customer relationships and current operating model.
“Maxi Melt has developed a strong presence in Europe through its customer focus and application expertise,” explains Kamal Tiwari, CEO of Xaloy. “This combination allows us to broaden our capabilities and better support customers with a more complete range of solutions.”
“This is an important step for Maxi Melt,” adds Renzo Cavazza, managing director of Maxi Melt. “Xaloy brings scale, technical resources, and manufacturing capability that will enhance what we are already able to offer. We will continue to operate with the same focus on our customers while expanding our capabilities.”
Maxi Melt has a 30-year history that began within the Dutch company Kluin Wijhe as a business unit producing screws and barrels. After becoming independent in 2009 through a spin-off, it now operates two sites, in Italy and the Netherlands.
