After Italy and France, GreenDot is expanding into Spain. The German group is taking control of Anviplas Spain, an LDPE recycling company based in Navarcles, Catalonia, where it has annual recycling capacity of 30,000 tonnes and employs around 70 people.

The acquisition in Spain brings GreenDot’s European mechanical recycling network to six plants, including the sites in Tence and Saint-Pal-de-Mons, in the French “Plastic Valley” (pictured), Hörstel and Eisfeld in Germany, and the site acquired last year in Italy. The group now operates in LDPE, HDPE and PP recycling, with total capacity of around 175,000 tonnes per year.

“The integration of Anviplas Spain marks another milestone in our strategy to build a strong, interconnected European recycling platform,” said Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot. “Their decades of expertise in LDPE film recycling, combined with our growing network, will allow us to accelerate the availability of high-quality recyclates and support Europe’s transition toward true circularity. Catalonia is an important industrial region, and we are committed to strengthening its role in Europe’s circular plastics economy.”

Anviplas became part of the Dutch Repeats group in 2022. In March this year, Dutch division Repeats Northern Europe was declared insolvent by the Gelderland court.
