Extruders for polyolefin recycling debut at GreenPlast

Bausano to unveil its new E-GO R single-screw line with increased productivity at the Milan trade fair.

 E-GO R seriesBausano is set to debut its next-generation E-GO R series of single-screw extruders at GreenPlast 2025, taking place in Milan from May 27 to 30.

Designed to boost the efficiency and productivity of polyolefin recycling, the new line targets the recovery of polyethylene and polypropylene from both post-industrial and post-consumer waste streams.

Offered in L/D ratios of 44, 47 and 50, the E-GO R series spans eight models and features advanced extrusion and re-pelletizing technology. The Italy-based manufacturer says the line is optimized for processing lightweight materials with residual moisture content between 5% and 6%.

A key feature is the dual degassing system, engineered to remove moisture and volatile substances during extrusion. The system helps prevent common pellet defects—such as air bubbles—caused by trapped gases in the input material or formed during processing.

 E-GO RTo preserve material integrity, the extruder screw geometry is designed to minimize mechanical stress at the feed stage, reducing the risk of melt degradation.

The dosing system is also adapted to the variable nature of recycled inputs, with two feeding hoppers: one flat-bottomed with volumetric feeding and another with a forced-feed mechanism to compact material prior to extrusion.

Depending on processing needs, the line can be paired with either a liquid ring or underwater pelletizing system.

Bausano reports that the E-GO R delivers significantly higher throughput rates, with models ranging from 45/37 to 210/37 L/D capable of processing up to 1,500 to 1,800 kilograms per hour of low-flow material, and 1,700 to 2,000 kilograms per hour of free-flowing material.
