Paolo Pusceddu Managing Director of Mech-I-TronicPaolo Pusceddu (pictured) has been appointed managing director of Mech-I-Tronic, the European mechatronics hub created two years ago under the Italian holding Groupack by initially bringing together seven companies in a “federation of enterprises.”

According to the company, Pusceddu’s appointment reflects the group’s determination to strengthen its governance and accelerate development toward a global smart manufacturing offering.

An executive with extensive international experience, Pusceddu has held senior roles at multinationals such as FlexLink, Coesia, and most recently as CEO of Octa Group, where he oversaw growth and transformation projects.

“We are pleased to welcome a figure of Paolo’s caliber to our team, someone who has already experienced similar growth processes and who has fully embraced our ambition and vision for the future,” commented Marco Giovannini, co-founder and chairman of Mech-I-Tronic. “His experience and strategic vision will be crucial in strengthening the group and guiding it toward the goal of reaching approximately €500 million in consolidated revenues by the end of 2028.”

“I am excited to join Mech-I-Tronic at this stage of growth and transformation,” said Paolo Pusceddu. “Pooling skills and past experiences gives me the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious challenge: leading Mech-I-Tronic toward a future where tradition and innovation coexist to create new value for all stakeholders.”

Founded in 2023, Mech-I-Tronic has progressively expanded to include 13 companies active in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, electromechanical, and industrial automation sectors, with its own management structure. The hub now generates around €165 million in revenue and employs approximately 900 people. Among the companies operating in plastics are the Italian firms Union Extrusion and Tecom (extrusion), as well as two French moldmakers for injection molding: SMP Moules and Ermo.
